Just a quick note to let everyone know how some of this works:
We have gotten several questions about how the new regulations from China are going to affect us. The answer is not at all! Our paperwork was logged in 11/21/2005 and none of the new regulations will be retro-active to dossiers that have already been logged in.
When will we get our referral? The CCAA in China matches dossiers by log in date with the babies that are available for adoption that month. There does seem to be a quota on how many children they make available for international adoption but the numbers and process are part of the mystery that is the CCAA. On average they match between 8-12 days worth of log in dates a month. Last month they matched through September 27, 2005. Our adoption agency comes up with a best guess of us being matched in April. This can easily change if things slow down or speed up at the CCAA. If we miss the cut-off date by even one day that means another month of waiting!
