"Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord." Psalm 27:14

Travel Approval

Wow, things are really starting to move fast! We got our travel appoval today. That means that our adoption agency can now request a consulate appointment for us. It should take 1-6 days to get that back. When we first received our referral they estimated 5-7 weeks before we would travel. Since they received our travel approval today they now estimate it will be closer to 5 weeks before we leave!!! That would put us around September 7th - ish. This is wonderful news! We are so excited but also starting to feel a little overwhelmed at everything that still needs to be done.

More Very Exciting News! We found out this morning that an organization called Grace and Hope for Children has been sponsoring our Lila! They work with orpahages to get children into foster homes, train foster families, and get regular reports on the progree of the children. They have information on Lila that we would never have been able to get other wise, extra pictures and progress reports. From what we understand right now, once our adoption is final in Nanning they will meet us at our hotel and give us all the information they have on her! God has truely heard our prayers and taken special care of our daughter for us!

Meanwhile, we are still working on Lila's room! It is now painted a beautiful "Sassy Lilac" color with white trim. We have a white crib and the dresser we hope will be white by next week! We have to refinish it.

Another thing that we can cross off of our list is getting a decent car. Last night we purchase a very nice, gently used Honda Pilot. We are excited about having a "grown up" car now. We are also very happy to have that monumental task crossed off of our list. We like the car very much and we have peace of mind that we have 2 reliable cars now. Let's hope it stays that way! The Corolla is 12 years old now!

Hi Greg & Julie -
Lisa from your travel group here. I've been wondering how to find out if our Shayla is a sponsored child in this orgnization too. Did you send an e-mail or did they contact you? I was hesitant to send one to them, as there was something I previously read on their website that made me think I should be more patient.
